As Treasurer, I look after all the finances to ensure events take place for you guys to gain, learn and enjoy. P.S. I love food and am more than ready to befriend anyone who shares the same hobby (I’m sure 90% of you girls do) so lets take advantage of this food eating hobby and create a beautiful bond of sisterhood amongst us. Mohammed Moksud – Education Officer

Hope you’ve managed to settle into University. As your Education Officer I’d like to give you a warm welcome to Sheffield. University is a great opportunity to expand your horizon, meet an awesome bunch of people and learn along the way. USIC offers everything from tajweed classes to public speaking workshops and talks on a wide array of subjects. There’s something for everyone: you won’t be disappointed.

Anis Rahman – Publicity Officer

I will be the Publicity officer this year Inshallah. I would firstly like to stress the importance of joining the Isoc as University can be a challenging time for some. Especially for those who haven’t lived away from home before. The newly found freedom can be a great fitna and for most, one of your few avenues of remember your Deen and reviving your imaan will be from the Islamic society. Here you can spend your free time in a halal environment enjoying socials, sporting events and educational classes. Also within this environment you will inshallah find great brothers/sisters who can influence you in a positive way. So I plead with you, join USIC and be an active member (Volunteer with us, come to our events regularly etc). I will in sha Allah be taking on the Brothers’ Welfare role. My main priority is to ensure your wellbeing on campus and to organise as many fun, productive socials as possible. Waqas Ali – Student Affairs Officer

As USIC’s Student Affairs Officer my role is to ensure that the Muslim students’ needs are catered for; in USIC and on university campus. I work closely with the Students Union, the Chaplaincy, Muslim Welfare House as well as external organisations. Hazwani Hassan – Volunteering Officer

I’m a 2nd year Chemical Engineering student and USIC’s Volunteering Officer. My job is to help arrange and organise volunteering opportunities for you guys to join in ! Aqeeb Javaid – Brother’s Sports Officer

I’m a 2nd year Accounting and Financial Management student. I am the Brothers’ Sports Officer and my role will be to try organise as many different activities as I can to make sure everyone has the chance to play the sports which they enjoy.
